Over the past 22 years, Joshua Blair has continued to grow his expertise in the aviation community. As a young pilot flying at the age 16 and purchasing his first aircraft during his freshman year of college. Blair’s credentials include the following: FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate with Inspection Authorization (A&P/IA), FAA Private Pilot Certificate, Bachelors of Aviation Science, Associates of Aviation Maintenance Technology, both from the Eastern New Mexico University. Blair has had the opportunity working on GA and Corporate aircraft along with Boeing 767 heavy maintenance. He’s also had the opportunity to work as a test technician for GE Aviation, the University of Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory as a build lead for just under 8 years. Leading programs as a build lead for research and development for GE Aviation and Doosan Heavy Industries. Blair believes when working in aviation, it’s vital being passionate about what you do. Along with passion and excellence being key ingredients for quality built engines.

Back around 2004, when Joshua Blair graduated from high school, he had an idea about aircraft sales. After relaying frequent messages from an aircraft broker to his boss at the local airport FBO, Blair saw a need for helping pilots (especially new pilots) find the best fit aircraft for their missions, along with the need for a place to source quality used aircraft parts.

The original name was Aircraft-Find.com (Blair still owns this domain). The name Blaircraft was a suggestion from a friend during a discussion about the idea of this site. After years of planning, Blaircraft Find is finally in the works of providing an aircraft search system like no other sites currently offer, even going in to 2024.

The parts side of Blaircraftfind.com will grow with inventory of various aircraft parts, including the following manufactures: Lycoming, Continental, Ranger Engines, Piper, Cessna, Mooney and Fairchild.

Joshua Blair’s passion for restoration started at the age 14 years old. Blair was given a 1989 Firebird from his parents, it didn’t run and was sitting in the weeds. It wouldn’t start nor did it have any front seats. After working to get the car started, he managed to drive the car on the family’s farm field property while sitting on just a 5 gallon bucket. I believe at that point a spark had just ignited. Blair dreamed of having the car ready to drive when turning 16 years old. Not only was it ready to drive, it was completely restored. He was able to find a 1987 TransAm for parts. After negotiating at the age 15, he picked up the TransAm for $500. In 2001 just in time for turning 16 years old, it was completed. Fellow high school class mates called it the “TransBird-Maro”, it had ’94 Camaro seats to replace the 5 gallon bucket style of seat! During college, Blair started his first business (Top Flight Detail, LLC) detailing aircraft along complete plastic interior restoration. This work had been a side business over the years, however in 2022 Top Flight Detail picked back up to a full time business. While building the JBlaircraft brands, it was decided that Top Flight Detail, LLC would become Blaircraft Restore in Jan. 2024.
